Black Silicon Solar is currently in the second stage of R&D. With sufficient funding to continue our development we are perfecting our processing at DTU.

We are focusing 100% on developing our final prototypes and things are progressing very quickly. We have however found the time to participate in the great events hosted by the Nordic Clenatech Open and took third place in their prestigious Nordic CleanTech Open. It is said that no no news is good news. That is very rarely the case for start-ups. However, we have been quiet lately despite having plenty of good news to share on accounts of sheer workload. The Cleantech Open in California went as well as we could have hoped. We were in the finalist group (top 6 our of 25). A short clip about our experience has been made by the great people at Nordic Cleantech Open. We have also been selected as one of the top 50 student entrepreneurs in the world by the Kairos society. This means we will be in NY during Kairos Global Summit 2-5th of February. Both founders we also be present at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi 16-20th of January. We will give a talk there about our company and how we got to where we are today. Please stop by the YFEL section on the 17th at 9 AM.

Black Silicon Solar was selected as Danish champions of Cleantech innovation of 2011 at the "DM in Cleantech" hosted by the wonderful people at Venturecup Denmark and EBST. First prize is an invitation to the global finals in Cleantech innovation during entrepreneurship week in California between the 14th and the 18th.

Out of a 120 participating companies, Black Silicon Solar was one of the ten to be invited back for the Angel Arena Meeting for the Europen Cleantech Challenge! We had a tremendous experience and would like to express our gratitude towards everyone working with the initiative, Intesa Sanpaolo and of course to the geniuses at Maverick Angels. We would strongly recommend participating next year for any cleantech start-ups. Here are some images from the event.
